Park View, Iowa

Plans are underway for the 4th of July Celebration.  To make this a great family event, more volunteers are need!  Please come to the next meeting on May 8th.

Wednesday, May 16, 2018 – 7 PM

PVOA Building at 17 Lincoln Ave.

 The meeting will include:

• Annual report from the Board of Directors
• Annual Audit Report for 2017
• Election of board members. (Three terms of current board members expire plus there are three open positions.)
• Open Floor Forum

Six board members are needed. If you wish to volunteer on the Board of Directors, please submit a short biography to the office (285-7804 or pvoa18@mchsi.com) by May 9th to get your name on the ballot. Requirements are the ability to attend meetings the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 8pm and a desire to serve your community.

If an association member cannot attend the meeting, an absentee ballot will be available at the office May 9, 7 AM-7 PM or May16, 8AM-noon.

In order to be eligible to vote, all assessments must be paid in full. ONLY ONE VOTE PER HOUSEHOLD.

Please plan to attend this meeting and support YOUR association!!

We will meet at Mamas Parlor parking lot at 7:45 AM  Depending on how many help, we are usually done in 1.5 hours.  Please wear long pants and covered shoes, all supplies are provided.  All are welcome to help!!  Let’s keep Park View looking great!

Saturday, May 5th  – 8 AM to 2 PM

Having a sale? Call Janet at 285-4226 by May 2nd to get on the map! The Lions Club requests $1 from each family having a garage sale to help pay for ads. This can be paid at the Lions’ food trailer at Park View Lutheran Church.
Shopping? Pick up a map of sales at the Park View Lutheran Church. After finding great deals, stop at the Lions’ Food trailer for lunch!

The 2018 Assessment of $100 is due by April 1st. Please pay now to avoid the late fee of $25. Your payment can be dropped off at 17 Lincoln Ave in the black drop box/mailbox.

It’s time to start planning the 4th of July celebration. In addition to the fireworks, it would be great to have a car show, live music, and bounce houses. Each area needs to have a chairperson.  To make this a great family event more volunteers are needed.  The next planning meeting is April 3rd at 7 PM at the PVOA meeting room.

Saturday, April 7th—9 AM

Volunteers are needed to help with a “spring clean-up” of Park View.  Groups will pick up trash in the parkways.  It’s important to get the trash picked up before the mowing season begins.   Meet at the Owners’ Association building at 9 AM.   Lunch will be provided afterwards by the Lion’s Club.  Rain date is Saturday, April 14th.

At the March 14th meeting, votes will be counted for the proposed change to the annual dues.  The PVOA board proposes changing the annual dues to have a maximum cap of $195. The proposed increase will be prorated over the next three years, with the 2019 dues being $125. In order to be eligible to vote, all assessments including 2018 must be paid in full.  A quorum of 60% of the voters is needed for the vote to be allowed.  PLEASE VOTE!!

It’s time to start planning for another great family event!  Mark you calendar and come to the first planning meeting on Thursday, February 22 at 7 PM.  Possible activities in addition to the fireworks are a car show, live music, corn hole tournament and bounce houses. Each area needs to have a chairperson.  Please volunteer to help!

The next meeting of the Park View Owners’ Association will be February 7th at 7 PM. The meeting date was changed so there will not be a meeting on Valentine’s Day. All residents are welcome to attend.
